Counselor Biography
I am originally from Port Arthur, Texas and have been a resident of Houston since 1987.
I attended the University of St. Thomas and received a BA in Psychology and Philosophy.
Shortly afterward, I was awarded a Master's of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Sam Houston State University. Since 1990, I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas.
I worked for number of years at various psychiatric hospitals in Houston as a counselor and eventually as program director, treating severe psychiatric problems and addictions.
I also worked for five years at a hospital of over 1800 employees as the hospital's first employee relations coordinator. While at this position, I was blessed with opportunities to train managers in leadership skills as well as help employees resolve conflicts and deal constructively with work/life issues.
In 1996, after much prayer and discussion with several priests and fellow Catholics, I decided to provide counseling services geared toward the Roman Catholic population. I have found that many people have lost their way in trying to live healthy, meaningful lives due to various emotional problems. The Church teaches that God's healing Grace is available for our difficulties, and my counseling approach helps clients deal with the stumbling blocks that interfere with their ability to respond to that grace.
I have been happily married to Karen since 1990 and we have been blessed with four wonderful sons Nathan, Andrew , Eric and Lucas.
